Cookie Policy
Last updated: 24 June 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how oCobra uses cookies and similar technologies on ocobra.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. “Similar technologies” include local storage, which a site can use to remember your preferences. We group these into two categories: strictly necessary / preference storage, and analytics cookies.
Your choices
When you first visit the Site, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. We use consent-gated analytics: Google Analytics is not loaded at all unless you click Accept. If you click Decline — or simply ignore the banner — no Google Analytics script runs and no analytics cookies are set. We remember your choice so we don’t ask again on every visit, and we re-ask periodically and whenever this policy materially changes.
This choice does not affect Ahrefs Web Analytics, which runs on every visit regardless of what you choose. It doesn’t use cookies or store anything on your device, so it falls outside the consent banner — see “Third-party analytics” below for details.
You can change your decision at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page.
Cookies and storage we use
| Name | Type | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
oc_consent | Local storage (preference) | ocobra.com | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies. | Up to 180 days |
_ga | Analytics cookie | Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique visitors. Set only after you accept. | 2 years |
_ga_* | Analytics cookie | Google Analytics | Persists session state for GA4. Set only after you accept. | 2 years |
If you decline, the analytics cookies above are never created and the Google Analytics script is never loaded. This table only covers cookies and local storage — it does not include Ahrefs Web Analytics, which is cookieless and stores nothing on your device (see below).
Managing or withdrawing consent
Use the “Cookie settings” link in the footer to reopen the banner and change your choice. If you withdraw consent after previously accepting, analytics is disabled and analytics cookies accessible to the Site are removed. You can also clear this site’s cookies and local storage in your browser settings — the banner will then reappear so you can choose again. Blocking or deleting cookies through your browser’s privacy settings works too, though some preferences may not be remembered as a result.
Third-party analytics
We use two analytics providers:
- Google Analytics — cookie-based, and only runs after you accept via the banner above (see the table). To learn more about how Google uses data, see Google’s Privacy Policy. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Ahrefs Web Analytics — runs on every visit, independent of your cookie choice. It does not use cookies, local storage, or any other on-device storage, and does not collect personally identifiable information by default. It reads aggregate signals such as page URL, referrer, approximate country/city-level location (derived from IP — the raw IP itself is not stored), and browser/device type. See how Ahrefs Web Analytics works and Ahrefs’ Privacy Policy.
We do not use a third-party font CDN — fonts are served from this domain — so no font provider receives your data.
